Family Fun!

We’ve been having all kinds of fun around here! My birthday was perfect :) Mike surprised me with a professional pregnancy body massage….AAAMAZING! I can’t even put into words how wonderful it was to lay on my stomach without hurting the baby. I have seriously considered calling her back just to see if I could come take a nap :) Mike took me to dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory here in Fullerton, then out to ice-cream! YUM!

My sweet sister sent me the most beautiful flower cake arrangement. She is always going out of her way to make me feel special and I love her like crazy!

Easter with Makenzie was a blast! She woke up and started finding all the hidden eggs. She would shake them and if they didn’t make a noise (candy) then she wouldn’t put it in her basket. Haha

Church went really good Makenzie wore a beautiful pink dress that her cousin Lexie gave her. I completely forgot to take a picture but she looked super cute! Mike and I sang in our church choir and it went so well I got goose bumps :) After church I got most of the pregnant girls in the ward together to show off our bumps haha. All I can say is don’t drink the water :)

Our friends organized an Easter dinner for all of us that don’t have family around. So we got another picture with the rest of the pregnant ladies. I think that’s all of us…

By far the most exciting thing that happened this month was having my little brother Bryce and my mom come and visit! We went to the Sana Anna Zoo which Makenzie was a huge fan of.

We went to The Cube Science museum and had a great time. They had all kinds of hands on things to do.

One of our friends offered to watch Makenzie so we even got to go to the New Port Beach Temple! It was my first time going through the temple with my little brother and I loved every second of it. I am so thankful for him and the decisions he has made in his life! He leaves for his mission to Uganda, Africa at the end of June. So getting to spend time with him was really special to me!

After the temple we decided to go check out Balboa Island. We took my Jeep across on the ferry…which I was pretty nervous about at first :)

I asked a “local” where he liked to eat and we ended up here…

The outside looked like a whole in the wall but the food was pretty darn good. I think our waitress might have also owned the place and was the cook so it took awhile to get the food :)

On our way to the air port we stopped and ate a tasty lunch on the board walk. Makenzie wasn’t too excited about eating as she was chasing and trying to kick all the seagulls. Haha

Mike is starting to get excited about the quarter being over. He has a few weeks left Wahoooo! I think I’m more excited than he is :)

Spring Time at the Tucker's

Let’s see what to say… things in my life are slowly getting crazier everyday! I’m not sure but it could just be me losing more and more energy every day. Makenzie is what I like to call a mover :) she is never holding still and if I just followed her around cleaning up I still would have a messy house.

I’m to the point sadly that I hate to bend over and pick up every single toy on the floor so I have resorted to kicking them with my foot into one spot so I only have to bend over once. Haha ridiculous I know but sometimes you gotta do what ya gotta do! :)

Don’t get me wrong about Makenzie this kid does about a million cute things a day. She has a way of getting me to laugh out loud she’s so funny. She loves dancing to music and sings songs. She knows the actions to the songs better then she can say the words so that’s how I figure out what song she is singing. She went to the pool 2 times this last week and can now blow bubbles in the water and has started to figure out how to balance with the arm floaters. (Is that what they’re called?) Lately she will come up and ask for a treat, say please, and before I get the chance to say yes or no, she will say OKAY and run to go get whatever she asked for. It’s pretty funny.

A bunch of crazy people Mike goes to school with thought it would be fun to have a mustache growing contest. haha So for the whole month of March they all grew out their nasty mustaches. At the end of the month they wore costumes and had all their classmates vote on the best Mustache....Mike WON! :) Whahahaha I will admit I think he pulled of the cop thing pretty good :) As for the stache it was quickly removed after the competition :)

Mike also just got done running in the So-Cal Ragnar Relay Race. If you’re like me and have never heard of this race then here is the description.
PICTURE THIS: You and 11 of your buddies running relay style, day and night, in a 200-mile running event through Southern California. Starting south of Los Angeles in beautiful Huntington Beach your team of 12 runners will head south down the pacific coast. Along the way you will pass through Anaheim, Carlsbad, Del Mar and La Jolla. The race (and your stamina) will wrap up near San Diego on beautiful Coronado Island. This isn’t your average 10K or half marathon, this is Ragnar!
Believe it or not he had a great time! The team that he ran with was a bunch of people from the ward we go to. So when they all came to church yesterday with matching “tattoos” they got some pretty funny looks haha.

After looking at the nasty blisters on his feet I personally would’ve give up running all together but he is already talking about doing it again next year :)
In all honesty I am super proud of him! Anyone that can run a total of 20 plus miles at sub 7 minute mile pace in my opinion is freaking AWESOME!!! Most men sit at home and watch hours of sports from their couch. Mike goes out and does what he loves, not only that but he will take Makenzie in the jogging stroller with him to give me a chance to take a nap or pick up the house. He has really done so much for me to make this pregnancy as smooth as possible and I’m blessed and truly thankful to have him in my life!

Things to come…I’m turning 24 on Wednesday!

Kinda weird depending on how I think about it some days I feel like that’s so old and time is going by so fast. Other times it’s like 24 that’s it! But either way it’s here and one of our friends is babysitting so we can go on a fun date :)
Easter is right around the corner and I can’t help but get excited for. Growing up my mom made all the holidays so much fun, so now I get to try and do that for Makenzie. It breaks my heart that she won’t have an amazing Easter basket like the one I grew up with that my mom made. (Due mostly to the fact that I’m incapable of being creative) But I hope she will learn to love the holidays as much as I did!
Well it’s late and I have a date with Betty Crocker’s Warm Delights…Peanut Butter Fudge Brownie flavored! Yes it has like 400 Calories but I’m going to eat it anyway!

:) Don’t judge me you know you want a bite! Haha

Life at the Tuckers has been a lot of fun for the last few weeks. So I thought I would share some of what we have been up to.
Makenzie is still as cute as ever! She is getting pretty darn smart… if you catch her doing something she’s not suppose to be doing she will blow a kiss at you really fast :) I try to keep my “serious mom” face on so she understands that what she is doing is bad, but inside I am cracking up!

Mike and I got to go on a date to a Clippers Basketball game at the Staples Center in LA. We had a great time we met a bunch of our friends there so all the wives sat together and talked the whole time :) It was sometime after halftime that I figured out what side we were cheering for. So that tells you how much I paid attention :)

My favorite thing that has happened was having my Grandparents come and stay with us for a few days! Makenzie had so much fun! I think she loves visitors more than I do just because she has new people to give her attention :) It was fun for me to watch her and my Grandpa Dale do all the things I used to do with him when I was little, like riding on his foot, getting to sit up on his shoulder, getting bench pressed up and down, and even pony rides on his back.

He and my grandma have always been a huge part of my life and it truly meant the world to me that they would take the time to come and see us!
We took them to a park close by our home, and even got to go to Disneyland with them :) Makenzie took them on all her favorite rides! We liked, “It’s a Small World”, so much that we went on that one twice in a row! Haha.

It was one of the most relaxed trips to Disneyland ever and I loved it!!! It was super hard for Makenzie when they left, she would walk around the apartment saying “Grandpa? … Grandma?” I felt bad that I couldn’t explain it to her so she would understand. I’m glad that we took lots of pictures because she loves to look at them!

It got warm enough that we decided to have a bonfire on the beach with some couples that Mike goes to school with. It was a beautiful night the stars were out and we had some great company! It’s been forever since I’ve had hot dogs, roasted star-burst, and banana boats….SOOOO Good!

I’m thankful for so many things! The Lord really has been watching out for us down here. I have the most amazing husband ever and am so proud of everything that he is doing to create a successful future for our family! I don’t know what I would do without Makenzie she has become my reason for everything :)

I love just hanging out with her. She’s starting to sing more and more everyday which is so cute. She gives the best hugs ever! I have learned so much from her and hope the she is learning just as much from us. Everyday all day long I am reminded by the wiggling baby in my tummy of the exciting days we have in front of us. I would be lying if I said I am ready for the next adventure. I’m not even close, but it gives me comfort to know that I have wonderful friends and family that are always willing to help out. Thank you!

February FUN!

Right now I did something that most moms don’t do… I gave Makenzie a sucker :) And to be honest she is sitting more quiet then she ever has before so I’m going to try and get this done as fast as I can.
Mike and I have been trying to decide what to do about getting a double stroller. We have looked everywhere and read a ton on the internet and we decided to get this one…

I know it’s huge but other than that it’s perfect and we got it for a sweet price! Mike and Makenzie had a great time putting it together and going for very short rides around the apartment. :)
Mikes parents were able to come visit us for a few days. Makenzie loved all the attention! We took them to a nature park just down the street. None of us have ever been before and it turned out to be pretty cool. There was a beautiful pond that we sat by to watch ducks and turtles.

Before we dropped them off at the airport we decided to spend the afternoon at the beach. We were pretty much the only ones there… I guess you have to be from Idaho to enjoy ocean water in February. We had a really good time. Makenzie found lots of sea shells and had a blast playing in the sand. Mike and his dad tried out the boogie board that I got him for Christmas.

The other big thing going on in our simple life right now is that Makenzie is wearing “BIG GIRL PANTIES!” haha I know it’s crazy but she has been doing SO good. We have only had two accidences so far. Both times Makenzie was playing and I think she just got too excited :) so we are trying to be more careful about how crazy we let her get :)

Church was pretty crazy! She figured out fast that if she said “potty” we would get up and leave sacrament meeting to take her to the bathroom. I would guess we went to the bathroom 8 times in just 3 hours. By the end of church I was so tired. But we made it out with dry panties! :)

One of Makenzie’s friends here had a Princess Birthday party. So that is why she is all dressed up. The party was outside and right next to a pretty steep hill. So most of the time we were there I was making sure Makenzie didn’t die as she followed the older kids up and down the hill.

Today has been a lot of fun! I love Valentine’s Day :) Mike did a great job making me feel special! I love that boy soooooooooo much! I had to work this morning and when I came home there was a “We Love You” note on the door that Makenzie even helped make. Inside was a note on the floor from Makenzie’s toys. It turned out super cute.

He just went all out flowers, balloons, and heart shaped pizza…that we ate before I remembered to take a picture and it was GOOD!
We got some fun things in the mail from my mom and sister :) They always do cute things for us! The bow in Makenzie’s hair my mom made and it’s adorable!

The shirt she is wearing is from my sister and Makenzie even got to try a Fun Dip Valentine from her cousin Lexie. She is a huge fan. Haha

So that’s what’s been going on over at the Tuckers :) Hope everyone had a great day!

Ohh Boy!

Well it’s been more than a while since I have posted on my blog, and I apologies I’m not the most computer savvy person so this whole thing takes about 10 times longer than it should for me  So here’s the update…. I’m PREGNANT and it’s a BOY!

We just found out yesterday and couldn’t be happier. Mike has been on cloud nine, and well Makenzie has no idea that the world she knows it is going to change really soon! As for me I just keep telling myself that I can do this and pray that this little boy will sleep and eat better than Makenzie did :) The baby is due June 10 for those who hadn’t already heard. We haven’t set a c-section date yet so I will let ya know when he is coming for sure.

Yes we are still living in a one bedroom apartment which might be the death of me before this is all over. We are on a two bedroom waiting list so wish us luck! In the mean time Mike and I have been demoted to the dining room. Laugh all you want but for the first time in a year Makenzie has been sleeping through the night! :) More importantly so have I! Just be aware if you come visit we will all be having one big sleep over. Haha
What else do people talk about on these things… feel free to stop reading anytime cuz I feel like I’m rambling sorry! Ok Mike says to talk about Makenzie…
She is doing so good :) She is eating and sleeping about 100 times better than she used to.

We have gone about a week without the Binky which I truly believe has been harder for me than it has for her. Especially at church today but we made it all the way through without it OH YA! She let me put sponge curlers in her hair last night before she went to bed, and to my surprise she left them in all night. She looks like a totally different kid with a head full of curls, but still way cute.

Her vocabulary is growing like crazy she now says; mom, daddy, more, please, bye, no, thank you, eyes, eat, one, shoes, teeth, bubble, binky, grandpa, grandma, cup, Minnie, drink, keys, ball, cheese, baby, where’dit go, outside, uh-oh, ok, turtle, hat, water, Dora, Hi-ya (like a ninja), hello, potty, duck, go, bow, oww, ear, button, come on, bum, banana, door, hot, book, yum, done, amen, bath, balloon … that’s all I can think of but there is probably a few more :)

She loves to go to Disney Land her favorite thing there this week was dancing with all the birds in the Tiki Room haha She had a blast.

We went to McDonalds to have ice cream after finding out we were having a boy. We let Makenzie go through the big toy all by herself. She had a great time where as Mike and I probably looked a little crazy trying to see where she went and if the big kids were being nice haha It’s kind of a big deal to let them go like that but there were no tears so I’d say it went pretty well.
Work is going good for me. Mike has really been enjoying school and classes. They keep him very busy but he still comes home with a smile on his face so I know we are where we need to be.

He is starting to practice on people to find their prescription so I guess he’s learning something :)
Well I really ran out of things to say just know that…Life is GOOD!

Love the Tucker’s

Life in Cali

So we decided to change our lives completely and move to California... Definitely a big change. We are living in Fullerton, California. I guess it is considered a suburb of L.A. It has about 130,000 people and is a really nice area. We are about 20 min from the beach and 10 min from Disneyland. Las Palmas, where we now live is a really pretty place and the pool is only about 50 feet from our front door. Mike can drive to school in about 2 minutes (I think it takes him longer to get his motorcycle out of the garage than the actual drive). It was amazing that we fit everything we brought into our 1 bedroom apartment, but we did it and its even starting to look like a home! Since we've been here we have had both sets of parents come visit and had a great time with them. We have been to three different beaches and even saw some dolphins in the water one time. We are attempting to learn how to boogie board, but could use about 3 more years of practice :) We both want to learn to Surf while we are down here too, so I think we'll be at the beach often. All this fun in the sun has convinced me that I needed a "cooler look", sooo... I CUT MY HAIR!!!!!

We took Makenzie to Sea World and she had a great time!

We saw penguins, rays, polar bears, dolphins, whales, and of course Shamu! It was great. We even got to see some fireworks afterward!

Mike had a birthday and turned a quarter of a century old, 25!!! He wanted to relax before school started so we had a fun day at home and then went to Olive Garden, his favorite :)

I made him a quilt for his present out of all his t-shirts from high school and college. He was involved in so many things that I wanted a way for us to remember them :) I even crocheted I Love You on the back :) He was super excited!

Lets see what else... I finally found a job. I'm pretty excited about it. I will be tutoring a 10 yr old and his older 13 yr old brother. The family is great and even said that I could bring Makenzie with me. I start on the 26th so wish me luck! :)

Family keeps asking if we have meet anyone yet down here and the answer is YES! There are some really great couples that go to SCCO with Mike and most of them even live in our same aprtment complex. We have been to a brunch, several couples have made us goodies to welcome us and one even made us dinner. It's nice to have so many people going through the same thing we are right now.

Today was Mike's first day of class! Ahhhhhhh so there's no going back now :) His class has 102 people. 82 of them are from California and a whole whopping 2 are from Idaho. There are 60 Asians and only 32 Caucasians. The real crazy one is that 76 of them are women. So any of Mike's single friends that are reading this, I think you should consider optometry!! :) Makenize had a hard time when he left they have gotten really close these last few weeks so it's going to be a big adjustment for all of us. Through it all, it turns out that Idaho isn't as far away as we thought, we passed it on our way to Applebees tonight :)
